Everyone knows that UHMW-PE has a viscosity of up to 108Pa * s in the molten state, has extremely poor fluidity, and its melt index is almost zero, so it is difficult to process it by general mechanical processing methods. The processing technology of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) has been rapidly developed. Through the transformation of ordinary processing equipment, the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) has been developed from the initial compression-sintering molding to extrusion, Blow molding and injection molding and other special methods. Let\'s introduce its forming and processing methods:

1. Common processing methods:
Press sintering
(1) Compression sintering is the original processing method of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE).
(2) Ultra-high-speed sintering processing method, using a blade mixer, the maximum speed of blade rotation can reach 150m / s, so that the material can rise to the processing temperature in only a few seconds.

2. Extrusion
Extrusion equipment mainly includes plunger extruder, single screw extruder and twin screw extruder. For twin-screw extrusion, co-rotating twin-screw extruders are mostly used.

3. Injection molding
Japan\'s Mitsui Petrochemical Corporation developed the injection molding process in 1974, commercialized it in 1976, and then developed the reciprocating screw injection molding technology. In 1985, the American Hoechst company also realized the screw injection molding process of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE).

4.Blow molding
When processing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE), when the material is extruded from the die, a certain shrinkage occurs due to the elastic recovery, and almost no sagging occurs. Therefore, it is a hollow container, especially a large container. Blow molding of fuel tanks and vats creates favorable conditions.

Special processing methods:
1. Gel spinning, super-stretch technology to produce high-strength, high-modulus polyethylene fibers is a novel spinning method that appeared in the late 1970s
2. Lubricating extrusion (injection) is to form a lubricant layer between the extruded (injected) material and the mold wall, thereby reducing the difference in shear rate between the points of the material, reducing the deformation of the product, and achieving Increase the extrusion (injection) speed of high viscosity polymers under low temperature and low energy consumption conditions.
